Online Safety and Wellbeing

Our Year 4 to 8 students use school-owned Chromebooks and school Google accounts as part of their learning programme. Digital Safety is very important to us at Glenavon School.  As part of our commitment to student wellbeing, we have partnered with an organisation called Linewize.

Linewize technology ensures the highest possible level of safety for our students’ school accounts and devices by providing filtering and safeguarding. Alerts for risky or harmful online behaviour will be sent to senior staff and at times parents may be contacted. This helps reduce digital distraction and inappropriate use of technology. It also includes a teacher tool called Classwize providing screen visibility and classroom teacher controls which help maximise learning.

Is this spyware? No. This software is not spyware. The software is used only for safety, wellbeing, and learning. Information is secure and not shared or sold.

If a student signs into their school account at home, background monitoring may still happen. If other family members use the home device, please log out of the school account and use a personal one. Managing this is the responsibility of students and families.

If you have any questions or concerns on the monitoring and safeguarding technology we are using, please speak to a senior Glenavon staff member or visit https://qoria.com/privacy. For more info about Linewize by Qoria, please visit https://linewize.co.nz/
