Student Leadership
As Principal, having spent many years at a large Intermediate School, and watched New Zealand's "anti-tall-poppy" culture impinge on year 7 and 8 students, I must say that the developing of STUDENT LEADERSHIP at our school is outstanding.

Glenavon develops students leadership to a very high standard in the areas of sport, culture and general school life, especially at Intermediate level

Head Boy and Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Girl, along with House Captains have considerable responsibility and therefore must demonstrate exceptional ability.

Intermediate Sport and Interval Leaders, arrange games and skills practices for younger students.
Students also run Environment Teams, Travel Wise Initiatives and open the Library at break times for student use.
