Deputy Principal's Blog..... Week 2, Term 3.
Hello again and welcome back to another great week at Glenavon - the BEST school in the world!!
Congratulations to our AWESOME middle school netball team who have moved up a grade and won 17-10 on the weekend - wow - you guys are amazing - it must be all of that hard training and self belief coupled with your training session last week with Catherine Latu - well done guys! We must also thank Debbie Taka for all of her hard work training the girls - thanks Debbie!! :)
Well, this week is another really busy week at school. Tuesday is parent interviews, where you come along with your Mum, Dad or caregiver(s) and share your reports with your teacher. Your teacher will explain where you are at in your learning in comparison to the National Standards and will answer any questions you may have. Friday is time for Room 2 to share their skills and talents at assembly - so watch out!
I had a great weekend - Saturday was a beautiful day and Kim, Ella and I spent the day outside weeding our gardens, mowing lawns and just generally tidying up our grounds! We then stayed up late and watched the rugby - even though it was a boring game - because the All Blacks weren't playing!!
On Sunday we watched our beloved Warriors go down to the Souths Rabbitohs - it was close for awhile but I guess the better team won at the end. Anyway we have a chance to stay in the top 8 when we play Gold Coast this Sunday. I don't know if any of you saw the Warriors under 20's team play on the weekend but they won 19-18 and are now in 2nd place! Well, one of their stars is Sosaia Feki - who used to come to Glenavon School - it just shows you, that with hard work, a positive attitude and natural ability that you can become someone 'special' too! I spoke to Sosaia last term and he is just amazing , he has a great attitude to his sport - trains hard and wants to be the best he can be! Keep an eye out for him!
I hope you have another great week at school - remember to say thank you to your teacher for all of the hard work they do for you and your classmates - we are so lucky to have such awesome teachers at our school!
Until next week ......
