Deputy Principal's Blog..... Week 11 Term 2.

Hello again , welcome back to another week at the greatest school in the world!

A special welcome to Miss Pausler - who is relieving today in Rm 4,  she is back on Wednesday also! It's great to have you here.

Well, the weekend has come and gone very quickly, I had a busy weekend watching the All Blacks deal to Wales on Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon watched the Warriors grab a last minute win over the Sydney Roosters. Awesome!!!! I hope Kevin Locke is ok!??

I also spent a lot of time on the weekend raking up the millions of leaves that are covering our  backyard at the moment - my daughter Ella helped me for about 1 minute then decided she'd have more fun going out to the shops with Kim - so I was left all alone filling up the green waste bin, it is completely full now , and a whole new pile of leaves have made their way onto the lawn! Oh well, hopefully the wind will pick up and blow the leaves over to our next door neighbours!!!??

Well, one more week to go at school till holidays - this week has lots of fun activities planned across the school.

The Senior Syndicate are attending the Technology Roadshow at MOTAT on Friday - we are still waiting on some students to pay the $9.00, and parent help is needed- so please let your child's teacher know and come along on the trip. Ms Bullock and Mrs Fernandez will be attending, I won't be coming this year as I'm heading off early on a family holiday early Friday morning, but I know Ms Bullock will let me know what a wonderful day was had and once again the Glenavon students will stand out because of their AWESOME behaviour and AWESOME attitudes and manners.

The Lynfield College Roadshow is attending our school this Monday 1.50-2.50pm in the hall for the senior students only, Luisa Feki (an ex student of Glenavon) will be speaking to you and we'll be listening to some amazing music!! can't wait!!!

I know Mrs Jethender, Mr Hussein and the middle syndicate teachers have  some fun games planned later in the week - Mr Hussein spent about half an hour excitedly telling me about his plans for these games so I know the middle school children are very lucky indeed!Of course, Market day is happening this week too!!!!WOW!

Of course the wonderful junior school will have an AMAZING last week of term, culminating in the assembly of Rms 10 and 11 on Friday - Ms Saunders, Mrs Bourgeouis will have another exciting and eventful assembly planned, so watch out for this!!!

I have been really impressed with everyones behaviour and attitudes this last week. I love getting up in the morning and turning up to Glenavon School and seeing all of these wonderful children- in perfect uniform, with lovely smiles and with awesome attitudes to their education - wanting to be successful in their lives and be someone really successful. Remember, you can be anything you want to be , you just have to listen to your teachers and work really hard, set yourself goals and achieve them - sometimes things don't go right, but if we keep working hard and never give up we can achieve everything we want to.

Enjoy the lastyweek of term - be good - and ......

Enjoy your holidays.

See you next term.
