Glenavon Middle School Hockey Team Victory

On the 29th June 2010 we had a hockey game. We versed St Dominics. There were lots of girls and one boy in their team. We played the whole Astro Turf.   St Dominic’s were good, but we were really good, and they played as hard as us. By the time it was finished the score was 8 to nil. It was a fun game and Glenavon hockey team was proud of themselves.

Zamira's Garden Report

This year has been a real challenge for school gardeners.  The dry season didn't help much.  At the end of term 1, plants that had gone to seed were harvested. The seeds were grown in trays, and this week we planted them out in our garden.  We won't know what the plants are until they are a little bigger.  We would like to thank the Room 1 boys for digging over the garden last week ready for our plants.

Room 5's Worm Farming Study

In term two, Room 5 are embarking on an exciting project. Each child will design, build and maintain a prototype worm farm. There are a lot of great learning opportunities in this study. One of our aims is to develop a school worm farm to enrich our school gardens and reduce food waste. Another aim is to design and market products available for sale from our surpluses.  Here are some interesting WEB sites you might like to visit:
